We are excited to invite you into our school on Thursday, October 8th, to celebrate and see the wonderful work your children have been doing in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month!
Families will have the opportunity to visit their child’s classroom and see students share what they have learned and celebrate Hispanic culture and history. Each classroom may celebrate in a different way. Students may be:
🎭 Performing scenes or skits
📖 Reading stories
👗 Dressing up as an influential Hispanic figure
🎤 Sharing reports and presentations
🌎 Showcasing projects and learning
We would love for you to come out and support your child and celebrate their learning with us!
⏰ Please pay close attention to the assigned time for your child’s grade level, as classroom visits will take place at different times.

A few reminders for next week:
MAP testing for 2nd–5th grade begins Monday, August 24. Please make sure Chromebooks are fully charged and students arrive on time and well rested.
If your child will be absent, please call the attendance office by 10:30 a.m.
Please keep toys and other personal items at home.

We are excited to see you at Meet and Greet tonight from 5:00–6:00 p.m.!
Please remember to bring your child’s Chromebook, Chromebook charger, and any other school materials or supplies you currently have at home. Bringing these items tonight will help us make sure students are prepared and ready for the start of the school year.

The Waukegan Public Schools Back-to-School Resource Fair returns on Saturday, July 25, and this year will be our largest event yet!
Join us from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at our new location, McCall Elementary School and Bevier Park, for free backpacks and school supplies, community resources, food trucks, a petting zoo, kids activities, haircuts, and more.
The first day of school is Monday, August 17, 2026. Before then, we invite all families to attend our McCall Meet & Greet on Friday, August 14, from 5:00–6:00 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teacher, drop off school supplies, explore the classroom. We look forward to seeing you there!
