About our Principal

McCall's Principal, Mrs. Carol May

I commit all of my energy and passion to ensure that the student's educational experience is marked with respect, kindness, and a focus on educational achievement. We have an incredibly talented and dedicated staff. We know our work is never done. We will continue to strive for excellence in all of our pursuits in order to create as many opportunities as possible for each of our students.

I have over twenty years of experience working in the education field. My career began in Beach Park as a special education teacher for students with behavioral disorders. I jumped at the opportunity to accept a position with Waukegan Public Schools, where I received my own K-12 education. It was a delight to teach for seven years here at McCall School. The experience I obtained teaching in my special education classroom helped equip me with some of the necessary skills needed for school administration. My administrative experience was also shaped by six years of leadership as an elementary Assistant Principal at Clearview School, which averaged between 750-800 students. This is my sixth year as Principal of McCall School.

On a personal note, my husband and I have three children. We have one teenager and two in college. I truly understand parental involvement is essential for student success.

Please feel free to email, stop by, or call to introduce yourself. My door is open for input, suggestions or ideas.
